Kapok Mattress
Thanks so much for help! I was really pleased with your service and happy with the outcome! The kapok was a bit messy to deal with, but we did get all 38 lbs. in the 4″ Twill Ticking. Tufting was harder than I expected, but it worked out nicely, and we had just the right […]
Win all around!

I love my wool comforter! I used to get such crazy dreams when I slept under my standard polyester comforter, but now, I sleep much more peacefully. I still dream, but none of the twisted ones that make you wonder what is in your head. For myself, I bought a regular weight and a lightweight […]
Four Couches
Using one 6″ King Hard latex slab, one 6″ Queen Hard latex slab and 14 cuts, we cut enough latex for four couches. Now that is some figuring. 91″ x 30″ 93″ x 27″ 81″ x 27″ 70″ x 26 Here are pictures of two of them. Even without wool batting, these cushions are filled out […]

Symbolically the seed compares the transience of an air bourne fluff compared to immigrants and ease of access to the USA as restricted by […]
How to Tuft a Wool Mattress or Topper
Tufting is a simple and useful addition to your wool mattress or topper or comforter. The tufts help keep the wool from shifting inside the ticking and help you control the firmness of your mattress. The technique is no more than down and up and a double knot. The above slide show should help clarify. […]

Organic Color Grown Curtains

Using fabric that was not dyed but was woven with different colors of cotton to create its pattern, I was happy to see this fabric four years after I purchased the same from NearSea Naturals (who sold to Organic Cotton Plus). Then, we used this versatile fabric for a futon ticking, now, using even organic thread, this customer had […]

Refused to get out of bed
I wanted to let you know that we received the wool topper and my wife and I refused to get out of bed yesterday! Thanks so much! We actually slept till noon. Then she took a nap (I couldn’t because of parenting obligations) and then we were both back in it by 9 PM!
Wool Flake Price Decrease

I have been getting quite a number of wool mattress inquiries lately. It always excites me to talk to people interested in physically participating in their mattress choice. However, my wool flake prices, while very fair, have been too high to enable some of your plans. Thus, to share in your creativity, I will lower my wool flake […]
Pillow of my dreams and mattress of my child’s dream!
I have been looking for my perfect pillow for at least 14 years. Seriously! I am not adverse to spending a pretty penny on a good pillow either. In the end, I’m never happy with ones I buy and they aren’t worth it. Enter DIY Natural Bedding. I bought a Kapok King size pillow over […]
Perfect buying experience

We have two beds now — a queen for us and a twin for our daughter’s loft bed. I have bought from other sellers and I am so happy to have found DIY bedding. Deborah is a pleasure to work with and extremely professional. We had to exchange multiple layers of latex (I admit we […]
Neighborhood Store

I ordered 3 medium firm latex cushions (5″ thickness as seat back) and 3 firm ones (6″ thickness as seats) for our new sofa frame. Deborah recommended the firmness, based upon our body weights. They turned out to be very comfortable. Their cut is also exact to my specifications, so that they fit perfectly on the frame. Thank you, Deborah! Attached is a photo of the cushions […]
Wool Batting Wrap – Why?
Wool batting is a sheet of wool fibers, aligned and layered in sheer sheets on top of each other, over and over until the batt’s desired weight is achieved. A wool batting wrap around latex both is used both when making couch cushions and when making a mattress. Here’s why. SOFTENING Latex is bouncy. It has […]
Wool Felt Ornaments
Who said wool felt was only for puddle pads?! My seamstress Amy, who creates all of your tickings and pillow cases, made these for my children this Christmas. Of course, she stuffed them with some wool batting left over from wrapping some latex for couch cushions. Thanks, Amy!
Meet Daddy
Meet Daddy, our new sock monkey named after Daddy Long Legs. We were reading in our history text book about Nebuchadnezzar II building the Hanging Gardens in the desert for his wife, who came from a tropical climate with monkeys and lush vegetation. Thus, my nine year had to make a monkey, of course, stuffed […]
Fit for a King!
Our bed is fit for a king, thanks to Deborah and her team! We ordered a medium firm latex slab with wool and cover from Deborah. The mattress has made our bed very comfortable again. For those who are interested to know, the latex sits between a 3″ thick cotton mattress and a 5-6″ wool topper, which after 3 […]
Ticking Ventilation

A Florida customer requested ventilation channels and handles be sewn into his knit ticking. To ward off his humidity, he purchased burlap ribbon which we sewed horizontally along the sides. Handles were sewn vertically on both sides of each case.
Chair Cushions with Shredded Latex

5 Tufts and a French mattress edge make our least expensive fill look classy. Two chair cushions used only 5 lbs of shredded latex.
Wool, Neck Roll Pillow
DIY, neckroll, wool pillow. Using rolled up wool batting stitched with long threads to one long side seam of the pillow, we created a neck roll. As the wool compresses, I expect it to be more and more supportive. Right now it is nice and springy. We used the softest of fluff, the woolly bolas, […]
Quite comfortable
The millet hull pillow is quite comfortable. I haven’t adjusted the fill yet, because I wanted to see how it breaks in over a couple weeks. I might take a little out so I can create more of a “valley,” but for now it’s working and I’m quite happy with it.
DIY a Wool Mattress

On my journey to do a DIY all natural bed I came across DIY Natural Bedding. I called up to ask some questions, and I was delighted that I found someone on the other end of the phone who cared about and could understand what I needed. The kindness and intelligence of the customer service […]
Great product, great company!
Customized DIY bedding…great idea! I purchased a pillow kit from DIY last month and knew immediately it was not the right choice for me (too firm). I was aware of the refund policy in advance of purchasing so I wrote this off as a losing gamble. Just for the heck of it, I wrote an […]
